The Eighth meeting of the National Forum “Transformation of Ukraine” took place. The topic was: “Discussion of the project of the National Plan for the Transformation of Ukraine”.
The purpose of the National Forum is to improve the mechanisms of social dialogue, coordinate efforts of the civil sector, government and international community to address the crisis in Ukraine, and to build a European type state.
The Eighth Forum was attended by heads and representatives of Ukrainian churches, the Presidents of Ukraine – Leonid Kravchuk and Viktor Yushchenko, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, deputies of the first convocation, which approved the independence of Ukraine, volunteers, heroes of Ukraine, representatives of business, civil society and professional associations: diplomats, doctors, lawyers, power engeneers, representatives of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, representatives of women’s organizations, mass- media, science and culture.
The forum was attended by foreign ambassadors. Jeff Fontaine, the head of the The Schumann Center for European Studies, had a speach. The greetings letters to the participants were sent by Jerzy Kwiecinski, Minister of Investment and Development of the Republic of Poland, Jerzy Kźminsky, Head of the European Union Diplomatic Mission in the Vatican, and UN organizations in Rome, Jan Tombinsky, leader of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.
As a result of the work, the Appeal of the National Forum to the citizens of Ukraine was approved.
