On November 30, 2015, the Second National Forum “Transformation of Ukraine” took place in Kyiv. The subject of the Forum: “The role of the Civil Society in the development of Ukraine as a European state and the possibility of using the experience of Central and Eastern Europe in the transformation of a country in accordance with the EU standards.” The following members of the Supervisory Board took part in the Forum: Patriarch Filaret, Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kiev Patriarchate; Jan Tombinski, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine; Anatoliy Kinakh, Head of the Anti-Crisis Council of non-government organizations of Ukraine, President of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Evgeni Utkin, Pioneer of High Technologies, social activist; Eugene Nyschuk, Minister of Culture of Ukraine (2014), Honored Artist of Ukraine, Laureate of the Lech Walesa Award; Mykhaylo Khariy, Chairman of non-governmental organization “Center of Transformation of Ukraine”, coordinator of the Civil Society Initiative of Ukraine. The Forum was attended by over a hundred people, among them representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, People’s Deputies, heads and representatives of Ukrainian churches, representatives of the First December Initiative Group, representatives of the culture sector, representatives of the business sector, representatives of NGOs and associations of Ukraine, representatives of the EU member states Embassies (the ambassadors of Bulgaria, Lithuania and the Czech Republic) and representatives of the G7 member states accredited in Ukraine (Ambassador of Canada), representatives of post-Maidan organizations, representatives of the mass-media. The next steps of the Forum will be presentation of the National Forum in the European Parliament on December 9, 2015, and at the IX Forum “Europe-Ukraine” (Poland, Lodz) on January 24-26, 2016, the appointment of coordinators, holding Sectoral Forums. It is also planned to create a tool for interaction between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Polish Government and the European Parliament, to initiate new for Ukraine financial and technical frameworks of support from the international community. As one of the participants said: “The nation has a future if it has a plan for tomorrow.” And we are responsible for its implementation. Subsequent to the results of the Forum, the Draft Declaration of the Second Forum “Transformation of Ukraine” will be prepared and published.
